why doesn’t the VA pay for alternative sources of pain management such as acupuncture, massage, chiropractor ?

and even hypnotherapy? Especially if the injuries are service connected.
that's fantastic dee but they don't give out meds that work, that in itself is a huge issue, don't you think?

Although those methods are good at controlling and/or relieving pain, they are not payable via most insurances, the VA, medicare or medicaid as they are ‘adjunct’ or alternative therapies that are not totally proven by science in effective pain management.
Unfortunately, medication is what they deem as ‘billable’.
