My primary care Dr. says she can not keep prescribing pain meds and has sent me to a pain management specialist. I am wondering what to expect. Will they continue my meds?

If the prescriptions, you’re taking now are working, I don’t see any reason why a pain management specialist wouldn’t prescribe that same medication. And as long as the specialist has good communication with your current Doctor that has been prescribing the meds, then I don’t see the issue with it.
The specialist will likely look over your medical history and your chronic pain issue(s). The Doctor may suggest other alternatives (possibly longer acting meds), etc. But, if you’re on medications that work for you than I don’t why the specialist wouldn’t keep you on the same medication(s).
Good luck with your appointment!
