My three children got braces Tuesday. I've been giving them tylenol and advil. They are to the brink of overdosing and the pain is not going away. It seems to be worse today than yesterday. Should I take them to the doctor. The orthodontist says they cant write a prescription.

I had braces and they hurt bad. Especially after the monthly tightening. It would hurt so bad I’d cry.
You can give the Tylenol and Advil but all they can really do is champ it out… it’s all part of the process.
I got my braces on Monday and the pain hurt a lot. I took 3 kids tylenol (I’m to wussy to swallow a pill) and I just used ice and chewing gum (sugar-free only) helps I have hurt because it stimulates the blood flow in the gums which help ease the pain. In the end they just kinda have the bare with it because it’s gonna hurt the teeth are moving…!!! <3 <3 <3

Yup, I have to agree with the others. Advil, Tylenol, sleep to avoid the pain, and failing those, toughing it out. The initial pain went away after a week…at least until my next ortho visit. After a few months, they hardly hurt at all.
