what are remedies for pain management besides drugs?

post-operative pain is not relieved by drugs .what are the other methods to relieve this kind of pain

Ice packs work wonders – they numb out the pain, and reduce swelling (which also increases the pain). My mom did this after her radical mastectomy because the pain meds were making her sick. The surgeon was blown away at her rapid healing.
