what all do they do at pain management centers?

i have bad back pain and my doctor is sending me to a pain management center i just wanna know what they're gonna do.

Pain Management Drs do just that. They first and foremost teach to cope with the pain. In many cases, surgery is the answer but for many, surgery is not guaranteed therefore, they (the dr) chooses alternatives like pain medication such as Vicodin AKA hydrocodone, Peracet, Darvacet, or even pain patches which are absorbed in the skin. Other alternatives are an epidural AKA spinal block or maybe even acupuncture. It just depends on the case. I know in our clinic we can not issue pain meds to someone who is under a contract with a pain management dr.
