I have been running outside for a while now. I am interested in the Nike+Sport Band. How does it actually work, and does it work well. Or is there anything else that will help track my distance and pace too.

I want a nike+sport band for running for christmas and it said something about having somekind of in shoe module that goes with it. does this mean that you have to purchase a nike shoe with the in shoe module or can you have a diffrent type of shoe? because I have saucany brand running shoes, would it still work on those?
