What is a Pain Management Doctor?
I have an appointment today with a pain Management doctor because my Spine doctor is not able to find a cause for the back pain I have had for 6 months now.
What should I expect?

i'm being referred to a pain management clinic for my back i have an appointment on tuesday i dunno what's wrong i'm kinda scared i was told to drink a lot of milk and take calcium pills and continue my pain meds. does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? i do know they did spinal lumbar x-rays. thanks for your help.
Do you have to have a refferal to go there? I got hurt at work, my back, and i know that they wouldn't pay for me to go there, so can i just show up and make an appointment?
But can i still go an just make an appoitment?
I have health insurance, but do not have a primary care physician, should i make one with one of them first? Or just go ahead and make an appointment with a pain management doctor? I believe i need x-rays
I have an appointment next week with the Pain Management Center at my local hospital. I am worried they are just going to tell me to go get massages etc but I don't have insurance right now (lost my job). What can I expect in terms of tests and such? So far nothing has worked except opiates, but I would rather have relief without the bias against drugs.
