Pain Management…?
I have v bad lower back pain which radiates into my hips, right knee and up to my ribcage. ive had MRI scan and various other things done and am now being referred to a pain management consultant and his team...
What exactly is the pain management team going to do for me? i am already on high dose painkillers. Am i just going to begiven more painkillers, or is someone actually going to try and find out whats wrong with my back thats causing me so much pain??? i am concerned im just going to be fobbed off with pain killers and at some point in the future im going to find out there is something seriously wrong with me that should have been dealt with years ago!!!!

the ones i went to try and teach you how to mentally block out pain i would go see another doctor
a that’s lame. Sorry to hear that : hope you get better. That really sucks. I remember this lady rubbed my belly once and made me feel better. DOctors didn’t know what was wrong with me i kept throwing up everything i would eat (not on purpose) i was dying! but some lady rubbed my stomach and made me feel all better. You should try other alternatives. Sometimes doctors don’t find c r a p. maybe it could be air…. if that was my case when i got sick that lady would have gotten a candle with a cup and put it on my back(ha sounds like some sort of voodoo but it’s not) it’s just medicine without the drugs.hope you feel better.
Pain management will help you deal with the pain and learn to manage everyday activities., with and without medication. Give it a go. Approach it with a positive attitude as well. Your pain is real but the way you manage it now will effect how you are in the future.
Accredited MDs in pain management actually try to avoid using high doses of narcotic pain pills, but aren’t afraid to use them alone or in combination other forms of treatment. They will explore what works with each patient since pain is different with each patient. Their job is not to figure out what is wrong with you, but knowing what is wron g makes their job a lot easier. If you are not seeing an orthopedist, see one as soon as possible, if already seeing one FIND a new one. People in severe chronic pain do not go "seeking" narcotics, just relief weather it be by witchcraft or modern medicine they don’t care. Good luck.
