I hurt EVERYWHERE. Does pain management work or does it just dope you up?

I'm 36. I worked at General Motors on the assembly line for 11 yrs. I haven't worked there in 4 months. I'm surprised at how much I still hurt.

Before you start talking about pain management, do you have a real doctor’s diagnosis for your pain? If not, you could have several problems that can be managed with little pain medication or that need serious medications. You could just need Ibuprofen (Advil) which will not dope you up at all and will cut the pain alot if not completely. You could need something prescription which would be stronger but not necessarily make you groggy. Many times the side effect of being ‘doped up’ will not happen unless you are given a large amount of medicine. Pain management does not mean doping you up, it means taking the right amount of medicine to deal with the pain, not knock you out. That’s why it’s called pain "management". Call your doctor to find out more.
